Jericho Diamond Mine Site Stabilization

Jericho is an abandoned open pit diamond mine located in Nunavut, approximately 420km northeast of Yellowknife. Outcome, in joint venture with Rowe’s Construction Ltd., was awarded the contract to mobilize all requisite heavy equipment, remote camp, and materials for the breaching three existing dams to restore previously natural water flow, grading and installing a cover over the existing tailings containment area, decommissioning above-ground storage tanks and structures, constructing an on-site lined containment facility for non-hazardous wastes, and consolidating hazardous material for off-site disposal.

Outcome created certainty for the owner by submitting a tender with a comprehensive mobilization plan which was carefully integrated with the construction plan. The regulatory approvals were quickly secured and the team overcame the structure demolition and frozen-core dam decommissioning challenges such that the project was completed within the tight six-month contract time constraint and slightly under the original tendered contract price.

Faro Mine Complex, Project Charter and Execution Plan—Yukon Territory

The Faro mine is an abandoned open pit lead-zinc mine in south-central Yukon which is under remediation. Outcome provided project management support to the Government of Canada with various project execution planning and procurement advisory services related to the Faro Mine Site Remediation Project. The scope of work involved project management and strategic advice for the overall mine remediation planning, control, and execution.

Gunnar and Loredo Uranium Mines – Saskatchewan

Retained by the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC), Outcome was awarded a five-year services agreement for project and construction management support for the large-scale $280 million remediation program of the former Gunnar and Loredo uranium mines near Uranium City. Outcome’s role encompassed project and construction management services, including technical writing for submittals, procurement, subcontractor management, project controls, Earned Value Management reporting, material testing, survey, and comprehensive reporting throughout the project to ensure client satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

Giant Mine, Project Execution Plan—Yellowknife, Northwest Territories

Over a six-year period, Outcome Consultants provided project management advisory services for the remediation of the former Giant Mine, a project estimated at several hundred million dollars and expected to span nearly 15 years. Outcome’s scope included the preparation of a detailed Project Execution Plan encompassing management plans for this highly complex remediation project. Their expertise in remediation and risk management supported the integration of previous design outputs into a comprehensive execution plan, including critical path construction schedules and cost estimates.

Additional contributions included project management guidelines for project controls and performance reporting, regulatory support, supply chain management evaluations for the construction manager delivery model, and the development and delivery of training for federal project managers.

Facility Expansion Program

The Facility Expansion Program for a major oil producer included several key projects aimed at enhancing the capacity and efficiency of existing facilities. The program involved the expansion of multi-well batteries (MWB) and sour gas processing plants (SGPP), including the addition of new surface equipment and power generation capabilities. Key services included the amendment of several D056 licenses to expand MWB size and add surface equipment; and to expand one MWB to a SGPP. 360 also supported with associated EPEA and AUC applications and approvals. Additionally, the program covered a superpad expansion with added power generation and compression to a D056 license, completion of the associated EPEA application for a power plant approval with MWB > 16 kg/hr NOx, and the AUC application, all of which were approved.

Pipeline Construction During a Restricted Activity Period

360 provided full environmental services, from permitting to post-construction reclamation, for a major Gas Gathering System Expansion Project in Alberta. When a shift in the construction schedule meant working within a restricted trumpeter swan buffer, 360 developed and executed a mitigation plan to minimize disturbance while keeping the project on track. Through careful monitoring and adaptive strategies, the project was completed ahead of schedule with no short-term impact on trumpeter swan populations.

A McGill University graduate with over 17 years of experience in finance and operations across sectors such as environmental remediation, engineering, and construction, Ian is known for his ability to enhance financial platforms, lead system integrations, and manage large-scale budgeting, forecasting, and compliance efforts. He brings proven expertise in working closely with business leaders to strategically grow volume and maximize EBITDA, cash flow, and project investment returns. Ian comes to us most recently from Environmental 360 Solutions Ltd. where he held the role of VP Finance.

Outside of work, Ian values spending quality time with his family, often exploring the outdoors together on hikes. With his sons, he enjoys staying active through a variety of sports. When time allows, Ian balances his busy schedule with personal hobbies, like squeezing in a workout, or enjoying a lighthearted video game session—often joined by his boys, making it yet another family event.
