360 EEC Women of Impact: Tina Hapienko

We’re closing out the 360 EEC 2026 Women of Impact series by coming back to where we started, with Tina Hapienko. With the end in mind, it feels fitting to bookend this series with someone whose work reflects the professionalism and dedication shared across every story this month.

Earlier in March, we recognized Tina for her Enserva Safety Impact Award, and we’re proud to share more of her story. Tina is a valued member of our team who brings a consistent, thoughtful commitment to strengthening our safety culture every day.

Thank you for following along with us as we’ve shared these stories. Recognizing the people behind the work, their perspectives, their contributions, and the way they support those around them, is what makes this work truly meaningful.

“Doing the right thing isn’t always easy, but it is always right.”

My journey has been one of growth, challenge, and continuous learning. If there is one principle that has guided me throughout, it is this. My name is Tina Hapienko, and I am the Director of Health and Safety at 360 Engineering & Environmental.

With over 30 years in health and safety, my path has been anything but ordinary. I began in 1996 with a large well servicing company as an HSE Administrator. From the start, I was determined to understand every aspect of the industry. Through persistence, curiosity, and a strong work ethic, I progressed through the ranks to my current role, a position I have proudly held for the past five years.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of oil and gas operations—from drilling and downhole tools to servicing, and ultimately abandonment, reclamation, and site remediation. This breadth of experience has shaped not only my technical knowledge, but also my view of safety as a continuous, evolving responsibility.

Entering the industry in the late 1990s and early 2000s, there were very few women in safety roles within oil and gas. It was a time that demanded resilience, confidence, and the courage to speak up. I learned quickly that curiosity and asking questions were strengths, not weaknesses—a mindset that continues to guide me today.

I believe strongly in a collaborative approach to safety: “Tell and show me what you do,” rather than “I will tell you and show you what to do.” I am not the one performing the work in the field, so it is critical to learn from those who are. Understanding their challenges and expertise leads to more meaningful and effective safety practices.

Along the way, I’ve been supported by organizations that valued growth and development. I earned my Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and achieved my CRSP designation, milestones that reflect both dedication and passion for the field. More recently, my work has expanded into Human and Organizational Performance (HOP), challenging me to think differently about safety by focusing on learning, systems, and human factors rather than outcomes alone.

I have also had the opportunity to work across Canada, the United States, and Mexico, gaining perspective through collaboration with diverse teams. These experiences have strengthened my approach to safety through shared knowledge and continuous learning.

I am proud to represent 360 EEC on several industry health and safety committees and communities of practice, contributing to broader conversations while continuing to learn alongside others committed to improving safety across the industry.

Outside of work, I find balance and perspective in spending time with my horse. It has taught me patience in a way no professional experience could, while bringing a great deal of joy and fulfillment.
