360 EEC Women of Impact: Nasim Fonouni, B.Sc., BGIS

For International Womenโ€™s Day 2026, the 360 EEC team wanted to do more than share a message of appreciation for the women who shape our path and purpose.

We wanted to share their voices.

Our Women of Impact series highlights the women at the forefront of our work: those creating change, challenging ideas, and helping uphold the high standard we aim for in everything we do.

By sharing their stories, we recognize the leadership, perspective, and influence these women bring to our industry and to the work we are proud to be part of.

Thank you to Nasim, our first Woman of Impact, for sharing your story.

360 EEC Women of Impact

โ€œI am a woman from Iran.โ€ A simple sentence, yet one that carries a world of stories, resilience, and determination.

My name is Nasim Fonouni, and I am a member of the GIS team at 360 Engineering & Environmental Consulting. I joined the company 20 months ago, and I am truly grateful to be part of such a supportive and inspiring team.

My journey to this point has been long and meaningful. I earned my bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering in Iran and began my career as a junior engineer in 2000. Through perseverance, hard work, and resilience, I progressed to the role of Project Manager, a position I proudly held until 2022.

Being a woman in engineering was never easy. From the beginning, I had to stand firm, speaking up with confidence, defending my work, and earning my place through dedication and results. I spent years contributing to large infrastructure projects involving over a thousand people, and while on site, I was often the only woman present. I pushed beyond limits, faced challenges head-on, and built my future step by step.

In 2022, I moved to Canada and began a new chapter in my life. Starting over was not simple. Being away from my 9-year-old daughter and husband was one of the hardest experiences Iโ€™ve faced. I worked, studied, earned my second bachelorโ€™s degree in GIS, and rebuilt my career while navigating uncertainty and change. There were difficult days, but I chose resilience. Today, I am grateful to have my family by my side, a fulfilling career, and a life I am continuing to build with purpose and hope.

I am deeply thankful to everyone who has supported me along this journey.

To women around the world: Being a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a professionalโ€”often all at onceโ€”is never easy, and it never has been. That is the true meaning of being a woman: to be brave, to be strong, to persevere, and to never give up. The world needs your voice, your strength, and your presence.

Thank you to 360 EEC for giving me the opportunity to share my story.
