We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Senior Technical Advisor to lead the planning, execution, and oversight of programs for human and ecological risk assessments, Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), and remediation projects. This role will focus on developing risk-based solutions for sites involving complex soil and groundwater assessments. Reporting directly to the VP of Environment, you will be responsible for delivering client-specific scopes of work with precision, ensuring accurate project tracking, and producing high-quality technical reports.

Make a Difference
- Provide technical guidance on human health and ecological risk assessment projects, as well as environmental site assessments (ESAs), remediation, and reclamation programs across Canada
- Lead scope definition, execution planning, organization, and oversight of field and office-based programs
- Ensure projects adhere to health, safety, environmental, and wellness policies, and meet client-specific requirements
- Lead regulatory and stakeholder engagement to achieve consensus and move projects toward regulatory closure
- Conduct site-specific risk assessments and develop risk-based remedial objectives for complex contaminated sites
- Collaborate with senior leaders to formulate effective risk-based site management strategies
- Develop and guide others in the creation of clear and accurate conceptual site models for contaminated sites and environmental impact assessments
- Prepare risk management and environmental monitoring plans to evaluate the effectiveness of exposure mitigation measures
- Ensure ecological risk assessment practices align with current internal and external policies
- Collaborate with the risk assessment team to develop and update site models across various projects
- Perform data gap analysis and plan remediation strategies
- Conduct literature reviews, interpreting and summarizing scientific research to address specific questions or problems
- Complete exposure modeling for human and ecological receptors, with limited oversight
- Mentor and support the career development of risk assessment staff and those involved in data collection and reporting
- Provide technical support to other departments and service areas as needed
- Ensure quality control by executing all aspects of the project in alignment with program contracts and conducting senior review of technical reports
- Develop risk-based guidelines, conduct site inspections, and maintain documentation management
- Engage with multiple stakeholders to implement risk assessment, ESA, and remediation projects
Utilize Your Education and Expertise
- Graduate of a post-secondary program in environmental science, toxicology, ecology, engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in environmental site assessment, remediation and risk assessment, preferably in a consulting environment
- The professional must be a member in good standing or have eligibility for membership in a relevant professional organization (required)
- Demonstrated expertise in providing technical advisory services with sign-off authority for risk assessments
- Ability to take ownership of a project and produce high-quality work, with consideration given to deadlines, budget, and workload
- Work well with others and to participate effectively in group initiatives to support the achievement of common objectives
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and thrive in developing risk-based strategies for environmental challenges
- Excellent knowledge of computer-based office tools (i.e. Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, PowerBi)
- Strong organization and analytical skills; detail oriented.
